Taberna da Rua das Flores

Taberna da Rua das Flores - Chiado

The only resemblance between the famous book "Tragedy of Rua das Flores" and the Tavern of Rua das Flores is passion.

The passion that is always present in the book of Eça de Queirós, and the passion of the founders of this Chiado tavern for traditional Portuguese products. Chef André Magalhães was one of them and explains: "Our idea was to set up a fun and simple place, which revisits old taverns with a grocery store space." And it's no small talk. He believes in an approach to national gastronomic memory, with recipes dating back to the beginning of the 20th century.

At lunch, there are fixed dishes and dinner is focused on tapas and snacks.

The tavern offers a seasonal kitchen and does not use refrigerated products. In the grocery store, you can also find samples from small producers. Examples? "Butter Marinhas, Broa de Avintes, preserves Luças, or organic bread from the Estate of Freixo do Meio."
